Why is he canceling your therapy hon?

do you have any friends you can trust to talk about it? mental illness is the least understood problem unless you have gone through it yourself. it doe help if you had a trusted family member or someone to just listen who will believe you. i know ihave similar issues as well. i am sorry this may not be much but maybee a start.

cuz he said he hates hw i tlk abut him nd his wife (my step mom) and hes a jerk and doesnt care if im happpy r not , he actually said that too...and my fam wonders why im s angry...i cnt tlk to my fam they all thing i want attention

Where is your Mother? Do you have an Auntie or an older Cousin that you can trust & talk to?

If not, look online for teen support hotlines for mental illness in your area & when you call, they may be able to help you get therapy & meds. - Also, when you go back to school in the fall, maybe the school counselor can help you.

my mom is here, i live with her wen i dnt have skool...she doesnt care rly...she tells me i dont need that crap and im suppose to be strong in life blahhh...unfortunately my fam thinks i just want attentin and that im psychotic...my older cousin was the one who molestated me nd his brother my best cusin..i cnt tlk to him...my fam can care less!

Do you have your own phone or can you use a friend's phone to call your therapist yourself? Call her, tell her you believe you are benefitting from therapy and want to continue, but your father will not permit you to. She may be able to help you. The school counselor is a good idea. In some states, at 16 you can seek mental health and substance abuse services on your own, without parental consent or prior notification. I don't know about New Jersey.

Are you SAFE at home? Do your cousins or others cause problems for you now? Is there any danger that your father or step-mother will physically hurt you if you don't comply with their wishes? If you could see a therapist without your father knowing, but then he found out, what do you think his reaction would be (would he hurt you)?

You could call the child protective service agency and discuss your situation with them. But you know that might lead to an investigation, with unpleasant consequences if you have to stay at home. Is there anyone else with whom you could stay--grandparents, older siblings who live on their own, a friends' parents? I'm not talking about running away, but an arrangement where your father would agree to let you live with someone else for a while.

I'm concerned that some of the mood swings you write about may be due to having to suppress frustration and anger about the abuse and people not taking you seriously, denying you the help you need and want. Is there anyone that both you and your father trust who might be able to talk to him?

School counselors do care, and I hope yours turns out to be a good listening ear for you.

if i went to therapy w.o my dads permissin i would prob be punished..he threates me alot and use to beat the shit outa me and my brother, so theres still that fear...yea i have a cell and i did call there but shes on vaca i think(she would have told me if my dad let me go to therapy)

im safe at home but i hate it sooooooooo much there!!!!!! i usually lock myself in my room and dont tlk to anyone...i dont like my dad or step mom...i trust and tlk to my neighbor but my dad banned me from going there cuz he doesnt know wat we tlk about and he hates that i tlk about him and his freakin wife, like i fucking care abut them...i still txt her tho...child services were in my life wen my mom brought me to my aunts after knowing wat happened to me...my counselor wanted me to go to foster care but i told her no, to many ppl will be mad at me and i was scared...i ran away once for 5 hrs , no biggie, my step mom was tlking shit

did u tell ur therapist that he's going to cancel? maybe she can write a written recommendation that u stay in counseling. there has to be something cause 16 yr. old have rights too, i forget, do u live in usa? there has to be something in the law that states that u have control over ur helathcare at a certain age. i'll think more about it honey and let u know if i come up w/ anything.
