Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I am angry right now at having to pay the accountant $3,000 for the mess he created. But since I can't fix it or control it and he won't accept any responsibility for it I took that inward and hate myself. Because I was raised to not be angry.
My depression is mostly situational. Things that are out of my control
I am completely stressed about not being at work for the last 11 days. But I can't just make the work appear I am not in charge of that. If the company work for has no loads I don't go to work. My mind wonders how I will survive pay the bills function when nothing is going right.
For me it is things that I cannot fix and I either can't or won't be angry at the person/thing who is stressing me.
For some reason I have to turn it inward.
I will have to think more on this
Not sure that answered your question but I guess those are my triggers.
You can take more than one AD together providing they are from different classes. Perhaps bounce the idea off your doctor too. Sometimes more IS indeed better!
Sometimes my mind starts racing and it feels like I'm going to drown in my own thoughts.
I also notice that when I'm feeling this way, my confidence is extremely low and everything affects it. I tend to feel like I'm not important and that my voice isn't being heard. I get frustrated and cry easily which makes me feel weak.
I don't remember that crying doesn't make me weak-it makes me human.
I was diagnosed with depression when I was 18. It's changed a lot over the years and I've tried a lot of medications too. I'm currently on Prozac and that seems to be the right fit for now.
The holidays are one big trigger for me and I'm currently struggling with feelings of loss.
I'd like to seek therapy-it has helped for me in the past-but it's an expense I can't afford. I'm dodging bill collectors as it is.
Getting out of bed is sometimes a challenge for me too-going to work seems to be the hardest thing but once I get there and I put on my retail face, I'm 'on' and I can't look back. It's exhausting which makes me want to go to bed even more and the circle continues.
I don't know if I'm helping but I appreciate the invite to dialogue.
I hope today is a good day for you,
~Elbie
I started writing blog articles for companies through skyword.com, and it's been great. I wrote 7 articles last month and generated, at $100-$120 an article, an additional $800 on top of everything else I've been doing. It's made the difference between barely scraping by and actually being comfortable! Naturally, I log into my skywriter dashboard every day to submit more topic ideas and look for the topic ideas that are there to grab to write about. For Julie and any others who are experiencing financial woes, this is an option to help things out!
As far as the feelings of blah, melancholy, etc., I'm happy to say that I'm NOT and have NEVER BEEN on ANY medication. I do physical exercise, particularly bicycling, to combat depression, and it works wonders. I can't help but be in a good mood when I'm boogeying along at 15-20 miles an hour with the pavement racing by under my feet, feeling the endorphins pumping into my brain and my body core getting stronger and stronger with each pedal. It's exhilerating!
