Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Well, we cried. We cried and this stopped us overthinking and it also cleaned our chemicals out of our bodies and left us more positive.
You get to choose if you are going to handle your problems by crying your way through them, or by diverting and hiding over in a corner cutting. Because that's what cutting is: a diversion. It's a cop out. It's the safety valve on the pressure cooker. But the pressure cooker has a purpose. It makes you grow. And releasing that pressure all the time will hold you back something shocking.
I am really proud of you that you are caring about mum's tough time. I think that's great. I wonder if you can handle the advice I give you above on top of everything else.
But one thing I would do is trust mum. If you feel you can trust her, then trust her. She loves you. And sometimes us knowing our kids are falling apart gives us the strength from somewhere we really didn't know existed to stand up, pull our heads out of our arses, and start leading from the front again. You need your mum, and she may well need to be needed.
xx all the best.
