Hi, I have had many pet names.
First wen growing up I was called BARBARIAN. My name being Barbara. Also wen growing up got called HEFALUMP. I was neither. This of course made me feel un appreciated.

Now I am known as kitten by my fantastic partener, and he is my hairy apeman.

I truely believe that pet names are ok, but only when they are meant or understood correctly.

Sometimes, as in my childhood, my father meant well, but it wasnt taken well.

Cant always be taken correctly. Make sure the responding party understands before the pet name is used otherwise it cud be taken the wrong way. AND THAT IS NOT GOOD!!

Hmmm, my Mom called me "MotorMouth" and "JabberJaws"...neither have had ill effects.

I do have a new nickname that hubby calls me but I'm gonna' leave that one private...lol

My Uncles used to call me Orvil after of a little green bird puppet in a nappy who used to sing "I wish I could fly right up to the sky but I can't"
Apparently I used to say "I can't" a lot when I was a child lol

I had a pet name from my dear and wonderful Mama who has since passed away, but we were so close that we called each other "Miss". I was her "Miss" and she was my "Miss." I miss her calling me that so much because it would always let me know that she loved me; therefore, no, it did not have ill effects on me except now I miss it sooooo much! I hope each of you can be that close to your Mama or Father (which I am not close to him) to the point where you have pet names for 1 another.

I was close to my Dad(who has also passed) & we had nicknames for each other too. I called him "Dad-oo-ski" and he called me "Kell-oo-ski" or "Grace" (I was accident prone..lol)

My uncle used to call me skeeta head. I liked it.

When i was 11 my dad called me chester, it wan't nice for a girl to be called "chester" I didn't like it.When your starting to develope you are sensitive about alot of things, hormones LOL, i'm glad that i can laugh about it now.

My mum used to call me chicken leg and bekahrooney it really embaresing specially when used to shout it outside school! Dont no why but my mum has weird names for everyone lol!

Oh man. Too many. My brothers called me mustachio and snaggletooth when I was little (Older brothers. Ugh.) but neither really bothered me. Other nicknames I had were "Gouda Cheese", "Oo-laroo", "Lulu lala", "Little Lady", and a bunch more.

And also; Wooooah, trippy, Tyny. My mom and I do the exact same thing! :o

none of my nicknames i remember were nice.

but my brother was nicknamed ''little john willy'' by our gran :)

My grandmother used to call me Hebber. I suppose it sounds slightly like Heather and that's why she called me that. Never bothered me at all.

I like to think back on it as it warms my heart. :)

You got it....BANANA.....My siblings still call me that. Sounds funny coming from a bunch of adults. LOL

my husband called me heiffer until,his Mom heard him one day...she soon put a stop to that although i can't say i minded lol
