Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
You follow your doctors 'orders', and you should be fine.
Hang in there hun! we Are here for you!
I hope the medication alleviates your symptoms. There is nothing to be ashamed about, at all!
so, if you think about it that way, a diagnosis itself isn't scary, you already knew about your symptoms. and because your doctor is familiar with your set of symptoms and treatments, it's only good news. :)

It did say "Treatment typically involves medication to treat both the psychotic and affective symptoms. Therapy can be helpful in terms of increasing interpersonal skills, insight into the illness and need for medication. Assistance with occupational issues can also be beneficial."
and
"medication has been shown to be quite effective against the psychotic symptoms and therapy can help the individual cope with the illness better and improve social functioning. Absence of what is termed the negative symptoms (flatted affect, avolition, and poor social interaction) improves the prognosis significantly".
I did find this with a GOOGLE search:

And it's just a diagnosis. It doesn't define who you are. You are first of all and above everything else a human being and that's what really matters. {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}
Otherwise, you are not alone. Things will smooth out for you with the right medical guidance. Heidi hit most of it right on the head. You are not the diagnosis.
It is the spirit that matters and yours seems just right to me!
I think your fear will pass with time too. Reaching out here will help a whole bunch.
