Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Of course, anyone that has gone through an extensive period of depression can relate. In the past when I have been in a deep depression, I related mine as being in a barrel. I would look up and watch the world from my barrel. Although it provided some protection, it was dark and lonely in my barrel.
I hope you are going to a therapist and if not you will seek one. There is no reason to suffer when there are therapist and medication that will turn your world from negative to positive. I learned that not every Therapist is right for you and you need one that you are comfortable with and feel secure. Dont feel obligated to them and find the one that is right for you.
The world of depression is filled with negative thoughts and your comparison of waves tells me you are locked into a pattern of negative thinking and perhaps self-anger. Unresolved anger is also a component of depression. There are so many facets of depression and unless you understand how they work on you and how to overcome and control these facets, you will continue to be in and out of depressions. Believe me, Ive have been there. I have spent most of my adult life in and out of depression and I have been to numerous therapists. Some were excellent, some were not so good and I learned to run from the latter.
One thing that one of the better ones taught me was the use of a journal. It doesnt have to be something elaborate or fancy. It can be as simple as a spiral notebook. However, use the journal to write daily the things that happen to you and your feelings or emotions. Write your entries as if you were writing to yourself (sounds odd, but who else can you be totally honest). Be faithful to your journal and periodically go back and read previous entries. Most likely, you will find patterns to your emotions and thoughts and they could be a key to recovery.
I hope I have given you something to think about or perhaps Ive only stated things that you already knew. In any case, I wish you the best.

Hope you feel better soon.
