Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
You may be in existential anxiety mode where time seems to go a lot faster than it actually does. The cure lies in grounding in the Now, because the Now is the only thing that is real, and that's where your power is.
You cannot unfocus from negative thoughts, but you can change your focus to something that is more pleasant and soothing than what you're feeling now.
That is actually a really good explanation that "time seems to go a lot faster than it actually is"
In reality he isn't super old yet...but you are right about time seeming to go by faster because I think like that about a lot of things...
So with your advice to what the cure is...Everytime I start obsessing about this I will go play with my dog or pet him :) enjoy the now. :)
I'm 61 right now, and have had many wonderful dogs in my life. None of them were the same other than they had 4 legs, were covered in fur, and have no qualms about eating and rolling in anything that they find on the ground.
I have enjoyed each one of my dogs, and let them make as many decisions in how we interact as I can. (I draw several lines, such as they can't lick my face, eat from the table, etc)
I think that you are going to be a really good dog owner over the course of your life!
Gentle hugs
