Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
i've come to learn there are really varying degrees of BP. family history plays a part. past reactions to antidepressants sheds some light on it. there's no test for it. if you can, you need to talk to a clinical doctor that's trained and more informed than a regular therapist.
I understand that I need to "fix" myself and that they are only there for guidance - but I wish my psych was a little more aggresive or just a tad more enthusiastic. I feel like because I'm honest in what's going on when I take the meds, he gets frustrated with me. We shall see what Weds. brings.
Also I think once we have depression, we tend to focus on all kinds of feelings and self-diagnosis. I don't know if that's good or not. Sometimes we can overthink things. All you can do is tell the doctors and hope they are able to give you correct diagnosis. My granddaughter has been misdiagnoised so many times it's unreal. I am just so cautious about that because of her I guess.
