Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Set limits for your mother. You've said that she all but refuses to take proper care of her leg wound. Don't make it your problem to fix her on that. Talk to her doctor about her health issues. Learn what she can 'live with' and what she can't. When her lack of care pushes her into dangerous territory then call 911 for her.
Don't give her a voice in calling 911!
I am not saying to cut her off, just ratchet it down. I am willing to bet that if she were not putting stress on you that the rest of your stress would be much easier for you to manage.
Gentle hugs
SHE HAS ALZHEIMERS.
SHE THINKS SHES GOING HOME.
I TELL HER SHE IS SOMEDAY.
IT IS NOT A LIE.
SHE WILL GO HOME TO BE WITH THE LORD.
