Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I sought out as much information as I could, and looked for resources in the neighborhood and city. I know there was a good Alzheimer's website that I found, and that provided me with solace, at least -- reading about what other families were going through -- and sometimes they gave tips that we were able to utilize. Talk to her doctor and nurses to see if they can steer you in the right direction. Each family has to figure things out for themselves, but there are commonalities among all of us, too, which can be helpful. (And you're absolutely right -- this is a very cruel disease.)
