It didn't help my pain or my depression. You have to remember that meds work differently on everyone .

I have found cymbalta really helps with my pain and CFS. I went off cymbalta but after a few months wanted back on. Getting off of them is a process...you have to do it slowly. I find most of these meds need to be weaned off. I did not/do not find them addictive.
You should try it and give it a couple of months because you may find it helps with your pain.

I too took Cymbalta, without relief to my depression. I would say give it a try and see how helpful it is. The good news is that it is not addictive like pain medications are. Since there is no way to know if it is going to help until you actually try it, I'd say give it a try and see how it works for you.

I've been on it for about 3 weeks now and I'm feeling much better. My pain is very week and at some points of the day I may find myself saying nothing hurts but honestly being painless is usually short lived without other meds. I've never been addicted to anything but cigarettes.

My symptoms from Cymbalta are dry mouth, sleeplessness, low or no appetite, low or no sex drive, and vivid dreams. I wouldn't say bad dreams but they seem much more realistic.

I find myself not worrying about everything, I haven't cried since the day I started. I'm not aggregated, not quite so exhausted, my co-workers and family have noticed positive changes in my mood. I feel much better, i Don't feel lonely, or depressed at all. Really don't feel any emotion but I'm fine with that. I think it's better this way.

I took cymbalta for a long time, for both pain, and depression, and had to come off of it suddenly when I had emergency surgery, and it interacted with a different medicine that I had to take. I had no problems coming off of it at all. Good luck to you!

I think they work for pain due to the seratonin and whatever that other receptor is called, can't remember. Yes I imagine there is always a dependence but I can tell you they work for pain really well. I have a chronic pain problem and it helps.

i took it several years ago...it did help at first with depression and back pain...then it stopped working....i was taking the lowest dose...upped to 60 mg and that dose made me very agitated so i had to stop.

I took Cymbalta for many years although it didn't help my depression at all. Should have switched to something else but in my case I really dont respond to anti-depressants much at all. Right now I am getting more help from neurofeedback than from my meds. I still take meds though and probably always will. I accept that fact as just being the way it is.

It does help with pain. Its not the only antidepressant that helps both
pain and depression..just the newest one. Amitriptyline and old class
of antidepressants is also used for this dual purpose. Cymbalta is
not addictive , that may be why they want you to try it. It made me
very tired and lethargic so i only stayed on about 6 months, but it did work.

I take it for depression. They wanted me on 60 mg. but I couldn't handle that so I take 30 mg. a day and it helps me.
