I don't get out much because of my issues but in recent months I have been going to the coffee house. I consider it my safe place because I can just go there and relax if my mom is giving me a hard time or if I am just feeling bad in general. I like to sit there and read or journal for a while because it helps me relax.

Anyway so I was there yesterday and this young man sits at my table. I don't really like it when strangers invade my space and are that forward with me. I am very shy and it is just uncomfortable for me. It made it even more awkward because I could barely understand a thing he was saying because he was soft spoken and had a thick accent.

I just wanted to be left alone but I didn't know what to say. Finally he asks me if I was single and I lied and said no. He asked where my boyfriend was and I said at home. He didn't seem to like it very much and got up and left the coffee place. I was relieved that he left me alone.

I was there again today and reading the newspaper when the next thing I know the same man sits down at my table again. I could not believe it. I just wanted him to get lost and leave me alone, but I didn't have the nerve to say it.

He really didn't say much to me other than ask if he could read a section of the newspaper. I lack assertiveness which I hate and I just let him read it. I was uncomfortable the entire time and did not know what to do or say. I just kept reading the paper hoping he'd get the hint and leave.

Eventually he tries to get my attention and said "we can go to my home now." And I am thinking are you kidding me? I told him I was not going home with him. But he continued to remain at my table. I am growing even more uncomfortable and scared because it was clear what he was interested in after that comment.

I also noticed he never ordered anything there and he wasn't actually bothering to read the section of newspaper he took. He just kept staring at the same page which was a red flag to me. It felt like he was just waiting me out and I was terrified to even leave because I felt he might try to follow me home or something worse.

He even eventually told me he was tired. I guess he was thinking I would want to go home with him, but I told him he could leave now and he still would not leave. I was going out of my mind thinking how to get rid of him and was debating whether I should go up to the counter and ask for help.

Finally I just told him I was about to leave hoping he'd get the hint but instead he kept asking me to let him drive me. I kept telling him no, but finally he relented and left.

It is just scary to me that this guy was clearly after one thing and kept trying to get me to go with him. And now it just ruins the coffee place for me because I don't want to run into him and deal with this creeper again. So I am not sure I want to go there again, but I don't want to let one jerk ruin it for me.
