Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I'm really sorry the new meds aren't helping. May I ask if you've talked to your doctor about it ? Maybe it will take more time to get into your system ( I don't know what types of meds or how long you've been on them, so that may not be a factor ).

Please don't give up the new med. Did the doc say how long it should be until you feel better?

My doctor went AWOL ( absent without leave) on me....so I am stuck.
His nurse said he had been disappearing for days. And that I needed to find a new doctor. Lovely...
So I had to fall back on my old meds I had left.
It works quickly...takes away anxiety, panic, impatience....its weird that it really WORKS...I never believed ANY would work.
I wasn't able to pinpoint everything....but I remember shortly after taking my medication for about 5 days...sitting in traffic "calm".
THAT never happened before...my normal traffic mood is...heart racing...anger at the red lights...anger at the person in front of me if they don't immediately DART when light turns green...and swearing...
I realized that day I was "calm"...and thought WOW this is different...maybe medication does work.
Then one time my boyfriend said something...that I would usually snap at...and it rolled off....
I never before believed medicine could do anything but give me side affects.
What have you noticed? Do you know?
But been calm all day today. Too early to say I am better though.
