Celexa anyone?

UGHH!! I think I'm having side effects. I can call my doc but then she will want me to come in before my next appointment and that will cost me almost double,for her to just tell me something that I probably already know or she will just want to put me on something else that I will need to get used to or mess me up even more. I'm starting to think I'm being mis-diagnosed for anxiety. Any suggestions or ideas? Hit me up please

Side effects are normal when you first start a new antidepressant. They
usually get better after about 2 weeks. Most common are nausea ,diarrhea,
stomach cramps , headache and sexual difficulty. The only one that
doesn't usually go away is the sexual. All can occur to a lesser degree when you increase the dose of one youre already taking.
One drug you could try in place of the SSRIs is Buspar. Its for anxiety
only..no antidepressant effect , but much milder side effects. I started
it about a year ago to avoid the SSRIs and its working pretty well.

Can I ask what she has you on for anxiety? And whatever it is, please, if you decide to stop taking it, do it very slowly, never go cold turkey as it can cause a lot of health problems. Maybe you are being mis diagnosed and you possibly need a different doctor to see. If it is anxiety that you are being medicated for, I happen to take Ativan and it works very well and I haven't gotten any side effects. I've been on it for about 3 years. At one point I forgot to take them because I wasn't having any anxiety and didn't get any side effects from stopping them. Well, I was having insomnia for about a week so I took 1 Ativan and went right to sleep. LOL...Hugs GB

gramybear, sorry for long reply time, but she has me on Celexa 20mg at 1 1/2 tablets day and Vistaril 25mg up to 4x day. And yes I have insomnia horribly. I'm told that I need to put myself on schedule to be asleep at a certain time of night(DUH), but with my schedule, I have been playing with the band at local bars due to high demand. Current suspected side effects are feeling like I'm gonna fient and a dizzy like feeling with some tingling.
