Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
You have to experience the pain.
When you have experienced the pain you will be in a position to have an opinion about it. But until you have, you can't be accurate about what took place, or whose fault what was.
this is the beginning of your adult life. This is what makes you: this loss. It's a formative experience. I think everyone should go through it because it teaches us that we are NOT irreplaceable, we are NOT the centre of the universe, people can take us or leave us and so we have to watch what we do.
But also; it teaches us that they were less committed to us than we were to them. We assumed permanence. That was a mistake. We thought every day started fresh. They were chocking up our crimes. We were complaining when they were unfair; they were passive/aggressively chalking our sins on their betting card to gazump us with when they had a full hand of aces.
So who is the bad guy? Well, go through the pain, and you'll find out. But you don't need a psychiatrist for this. It's not a psychiatric disorder. It's grief.
