Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

It's hardest when you feel like you're really trying but to no avail. I can't help but compare it to physical pain. I dread falling deeper into the hole because in the past I have gone for months struggling just to get through the day.
Some things that help me are asking someone to hold me, talking to people who understand, writing on DS and knowing that it will end.
I have only been hospitalized once, a long time ago, but if I had to and could afford it I would go again. I say this because I wonder if you have thought about this if things don't get better. I think that the longer that you are depressed the worse the depression can become if you don't feel that you're getting better. You truly are suffering
I am sorry to know you are feeling the way I am. I wish there weren’t so many of us that are truly suffering with this. I wish I could make us all feel better.
I understand completely what you are describing but for me it’s a pit instead of a dark hole. And it does feel as bad as physical pain. I’m sorry you are feeling this way. I struggle myself many days not wanting to get out of bed. It’s a horrible existence. I hope you are able to turn it around now and come out the other side feeling stronger.
Dear one, you may not see it that sharing your feelings is creating a new life and you are progressing no matter what you believe. Soulful words help you work through these issues. Yes; your words have a soul and power, as you knit together in what others have to share of their own personal experiences; their words have a spirit too. You are indeed healing through the transport of experience, then the process is, unfortunately, slower for now. Although, please keep in mind that you are experiencing these stages in one blended DS family here, which is good for you. As families support each other well. And you don't have to negotiate the changes right away, no, use the extra support others share here, take time, and learn and apply these new skills and ideas of healing as you gather in information through visits on site.
We are all trying to manage a healthy lifestyle and these events take time, consuming time. We must stay patient, and steer clear of thoughts that diffuse your power and discourage you. And it is well to share or express conflicting feelings and thoughts openly, especially under pressure. Feelings are attended to encourage new ideas; use the support or input to find hopeful and positive growth; report this, so that others may know that their efforts to help are indeed bearing weight. We all want that each of us gains an advantage.
Thank you for your kind words. I do have a therapist that I am seeing but I am having such difficulty with the depression ruling my life right now. I don’t have any friends to talk to which brought me to this site. I’ve met some wonderful people here who are so very kind and understanding. I still struggle daily.
