Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
however, with other people in our lives there probably are quiet a few that smile and think we're just lazy or immature but who cares about them?
It's not good for us to keep it in or a secret from our loved ones, this Iknow too, but its hard to keep bothering them with the same old stuff. Your not alone in this, and not sure how we go about it but keep plgging away at it and hope for the best.
But if someone really likes you they don't seem to mind. And I have to remind myself that I would do the same thing for them if they were in my position.
I try to Do special little things to show them how much I love and appreciate them.
Love overshadows Burden
I do feel bad that I can't control the way I feel. I do know that it makes hubby feel inadequate. Is it negative self talk? Perhaps. For me I know its accurate.
That's wny I come here. To talk to people who get it. Then I don't have to beg for real people in my life to care about me.
Sorry don't think that I was much help.
Im sorry, theres no answer for me. I was suicidal in September, got ready to kill myself twice in one day. Im alone mostly, no one would have noticed except my mom when i didnt call her that night. I couldnt do it, so tore up my note and put everything away.
Never told anyone for a week, then told my oldest. The girls were floored. They cried, and got all upset, then said they wanted me around, just as i am. Being here and mentally ill, is much better than losing me completely. So theres been less pressure, although the more stable I am, the more they ratchet up their expectations.
Plus I feel so shitty most of the time that to give back positively can be really difficult. Everyone's heard that advice to cut negative people out of your life. Well, ummm that's pretty much me. If I honestly answer someone's enquiry into how I'm doing, it's a downer for the most part. Plus the negative language in our minds leaks out in our commentary of the day.
I also find my family a burden though so I guess it equals out!
I have a daughter that has stressed me out with her drama for 15 years now.My husband can be very negative and drives me nuts. In fact I think he has contributed greatly to my depression because of his negativity (which he doesn't think he has). I'd like to record all his comments from a day to play back to him.
I spent the day with him and my grandson today at a zoo. It should've been a great time. I hated his company. I truly hated his company. How awful is that. Just his nit picking comments and negative body language makes it 10 times more difficult for me who is currently really working at being positive. Anyway, I am off topic.
