Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Healing is such a personal process and it's a little different for everyone. Self-love is a must: you must love and forgive yourself (if you are holding onto any guilt?) I think once you decide you are ready for help, something will show up for you.
In a way the answer is in the question. Take steps toward a better life. Think of what you want to change, how you want to grow, and think of ONE THING you can do to help make that happen. I think it's that simple. Keep doing that every day. Much love and hugs!
baby steps in the right direction is still progress. Your past will always be your past - that can not change. But you can change your present and your future by caring for yourself and your bf and anyone else that matters to you.
Just keep trying. You are worth the effort.
Sometimes it's necessary to fight, abuse the abuser right back. Sometimes it's necessary to be resigned to a blase acceptance. And sometimes it's necessary to be a smart-alec, diffuse abuse with sarcastic humor.
Sometimes it's just a matter of coming up with better WORDS, to say to ourselves and to each other, so we communicate more effectively, and thus any notion of "abuse" is diffused.
I attend Unity Church and voraciously read positive spiritual self-help books. It's increased my positive word power tremendously, helped me relax, be grateful and more fearlessly interact with others.
