Yeah. I'm being stalked. By my brother. That's right.
I ended the relationship at the beginning of this year after what feels like a lifetime of harassment and violence, at the requirement of my counselor who demanded it.
My depression was starting to evaporate. I was taking fewer meds. My "mental illness" was dissipating.
And then, what I never dreamed of in a thousand years: I started seeing him around. At first, I thought it was me-just mental tricks or something. While would be out in my neighborhood walking. He would park a couple of blocks ahead, in a car that is not his, and get out and look at me.
And then my blood ran cold this morning, while on my very long commute this morning, to my horror, on the long desert commute with the one-lane-highway in the middle of nowhere: his car was behind me for nearly 25 miles. He merged onto the freeway from the main highway to the deserted highway that leads southwest and there was no mistake that it was him. I felt like I was in the middle of a horror movie when I saw the 1980's car that he refurbished-there is no other car like this antique one that he has scalded and repainted so many times, a sports car. I was so terrified, as I didn't have my weapon with me, and he never got off at any of the exits. I called my therapist while driving and she picked up-it wasn't even seven in the morning, and he does NOT work out this way, no reason to be here on a Friday morning, and it's just us on the highway. She told me to take a photograph. He continued to follow me west, then south, on the freeway when I held up the cameraphone to catch him behind me. I think he panicked, because as my exit came up, he then moved from the right lane nearing the exit to the left lane. I made sure to look directly at him as he passed me on the left. He didn't look back but submissively looked away and continued driving. It was him. Exactly him. And I got three VERY clear photos.
When I got to the office, I was shaking and petrified. This means he knows where I live and is following my schedule. What is he planning?
