Has anyone found that Seroquel disturbs sleep. I know it is sedating and I hate that but also when I take it and go to bed I feel a rush of negative and sometimes suicidal thoughts rushing into my mind. I am hating to sleep now because of it?

Does it affect the brain patterns and lead to nightmares and anxiety when sleeping?

I find it helps with my sleep but I am tired the next day, and have to have naps

I'm on a different anti-depressant but mine does that too. Some days I sleep fine and others I'll wake up in the middle of the night freaking out. It's also increased my suicidal thoughts.

How long have you been taking it for? Sometimes they take a while to settle down.

I took this in the past but never had these types of problems. I think though most antidepressants/mood stabilizers list suicidal thoughts as a possible serious side effect. You should probably contact your Dr and discuss this.

I have to say I'm on 200 mg at bedtime and it really helps with my sleep

i used to take it. it made me sleep but also gave me awful nightmares.

If you are having suicidal thoughts while on it maybe it is not the drug for you - talk to your pdoc about that and tell him/her it was while you are on Seroquel this happens (it is a listed side effect) and see what they say.

I found Seroquel to just make me calm and happy..

You can possibly get akathisia while on it since it is an antipsychotic:

I am on a small amount (my doc lets me take 25-100mg, depending on how well it helps with sleep). My mood is good on it, but I am so sleepy the next day I need constant naps and hate that feeling (not to mention it doesn't fly with work). I also have nightmares almost every night. Call it morbid, but I actually like the nightmares. Sometimes I can barely distinguish them from reality in the morning for awhile, but it's kind of like going to the movies (funny, I hate horror films).

Thanks everyone for your input. I might as well tell my pdoc about the increased suicidal ideations. When I was on a smaller dose it helped me sleep but on a higher dose I just hate the super sedation that it puts me through.

My pdoc suggested that I take divide the dose by two and take it half an hour apart. It is ok but still it really affects my mood immensley.
