Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Alternately a better plan in my book would be switching up your other antidepressant. If you've been on it for 5 years it might have stopped working, they do that after a while.
I'm on Prozac and it's great, zero depression in 3 years except that one month they took me off of it. Wellbutrin and Lexapro are other antidepressants that I would recommend. They work well with benzos, I always take an anti-depressant and a benzo.
Another option you have is switching the Ativan to Klonopin. That's what I take. It has a much longer half life. It's like an extended release anti-anxiety med that keep you at a steady level of calm all day instead of going up and down as Ativan can do.
Hope this helps.
