Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Idk how your therapist could let you see her for that long and not consider that any kind of relationship.
She does have a relationship with you, and it is healthy, and it is close. But it's not even, and it's not a 'real world' relationship. It is artificial in that if you were not paying her money, she would not be in your life.
That doesn't mean she doesn't like you or doesn't care for you. It's just that she's outside the study. She wants you to look at your real life.
To be honest, the fact that she told you she is an artificial relationship shows that she is an honest person with you. And that she does care about you. Because if she didn't, she wouldn't say it. :D
:D :D so you are loved and cared for, but it's not a 1:1 balanced even relationship of give and take. It's more like mother/daughter or teacher/pupil. Imbalanced.
We choose our friends based on a lot of personal things, such as shared values, desire to do things together, etc.
