I can't imagine being in the position you are in. I have a little cat who is going to be 15 this year. And I know one day I will have to make the same decision that you are. I empathize deeply with the grief I know you are going to have to deal with.

Don't worry about breaking down at the vet's office. Everyone will understand. We all love our pets, maybe some of us more than others. Your cat is lucky to have been loved so well. It's a shame that we aren't able to give our human loved ones the gift of euthanasia. Instead humans suffer in misery sometimes for many years before the release of death.

Don't wait for too long before finding room in your heart for another furry friend. There is another cat out there waiting for a good home with you. Hugs Kelley

SHE WAS 16 YEARS OLD AND WE BOUGHT HER IN BELGIUM.
SHE WAS A GREAT PET.
HUBBY LET HER OUT IN THE RAIN.
I DIDNT KNOW UNTIL TOO LATE.
SHE WAS UNDER THE HOUSE ALL DAY IN THE DAMP WEATHER.
SHE WAS HIDING UNDER THE HOUSE.
WE WERE GONE MOST OF THE DAY.
WE PUT HER TO SLEEP THE NEXT DAY.

I HAD BRAIN SURGERY IN 2009.

M cat just turned 18 years old this year. She has asthma and she is also losing weight and drinking lot of water. The monthly depo-medrol shots that we are giving her to prevent choking are also spiking her insulin rates causing her to lose weight. I don't know how much longer she will be around, but when she passes I'm going to be very angry. I usually get angry and bury all of my pain when something traumatic happens to me. Any how, I hope you get through this terrible time in your life. You've fought for 55 years to live and you still have a lot of fight left within you. I think you will be just fine when you adopt another beautiful kitten. I hope you feel better soon.
