Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I, too, love Christmas and the true meaning of it all.......I blame the likes of Martha Stewart, Better Homes and Gardens, HGTV....
Honestly, remember the year Martha Stewart was in jail and we had the year off?
I can't seem to kick the blues today, either. My kids are so excited and I try to see Christmas through their eyes, but, alas.
This year it's the lack of a job for me and $.
Have you watched any Christmas movies lately? I laughed and cried (good tears) through "Holiday Inn" the other night.
:)
I hope you find out what is causing this.

I also think that we put too much expectations on the holiday. Maybe just let what happens, happen? And remember... much of what you are feeling is the depression talking... trying to bring you down...
Does that make sense?
MarthaMom,
yeah, the other night, i watched National Lampoons Christmas Vacation...Laughed more than I have all year, but then came the next day, and it was back to being depressed :(
Lack of job and $ here too, i haven't gotten my son anything for two Christmases now...he's a good sport about it, but I feel like a complete failure...
Testycatlady...
SAD, no i haven't heard of that but I'll look into it for next year...as for the depression talking...yeah, definately...it's a pain in the emotional butt...
GoodFella,
thanks...maybe if I can get my significant other and myself to see that I will feel a little better...
anyway, thanks
