Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Had to get away from them. That was embarrassing.
I've been trying really hard to live in the moment, not worry about what the next moment will bring. Seeing 3 therapists. I still get very uncomfortable sometimes in social situations.
I honestly don't know the answer....I've tried to push myself to be more social, and it helps for a while...then I start isolating again.
It IS very irritating for several people to carry on many conversations at one time.
I'm surprised that this happened around your family. These are the people that love you the most. Do you think there is something in your family dinamic that may be causing this? Maybe you can start finding a way to cope with whatever isn't feeling quite right around your family. I've had to do this before during my brother's divorce. Also, just watching my parents get older was doing it to me. But, eventually, I was able to accept what was and move with it.
What helped my anxiety was finding a fullfilling outlet and being around people who are respectful, genuinely caring, and positive. I guess I got lucky, because that isn't always easy to find, I don't think.
Sorry this is so long. They are just thoughts that I hope can help you in some way. I hope they made sense. Be patient, your efforts will eventually work. Take care.
