Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
There's so many people who have no desire to live and let live, but take pride in "working" the group, manipulating others into resenting
who they resent. It takes a while, but eventually people come around, more often that not. Most people have at least someone they can't stand based on someone else's influence.
When you share good news with critical people, they almost never respond in a good way. After a while, it's just not worth it. We can't always trust everyone we love to have our best interest at heart.
I'm sharing a site with you -- I absolutely love the honesty and the way the columnist calls out this vindictive woman who is pretending she hasn't done anything wrong.
Sending good thoughts.

1. You can't change how people treat you or what they say about
you. All you can do is change how you react to it.

That said, one approach that began to help me with this was to try to adjust my thinking away from what I disliked about myself and toward what I liked/what I would like to be. I don't know you, naturally, at this stage, but you seem like an intelligent, insightful, thoughtful person who has genuine concern for others (congrats on school, by the way!). Maybe, provided you don't find it bothersome, you could help me out and add to the list of your positives or goals? For example, might I ask what you'd like to pursue in or after college?
