Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Secondly, alone is a good way to be when you are down, because nobody has to see too much. Keep your privacy for a while, cry as much as you need to, and your body will process all of the changes you have gone through and come out the other end. Try to avoid evolving your pain into action. Pain is just raw pain. Keep it at that level without doing anything about it. Cutting is seen by most normies as an act of melodrama or romance, and they resent it. They won't feel sorry for you being brave in your time of woe; they will want to punch you in the face.
that's the thing n0body ever tells anybody that cuts; this reaction other people have to it. It's not a compassionate reaction.
What you are going through now though is largely physiological and we've all been through it. Your body has to get through it. You have had a lot happen, and are grieving.
Grieving can create depression and anxiety, but it's not congenital; it's situational.
So don't assume that how you feel now will last. It might last a year. it won't last two. You will come back to yourself but with more wisdom, more resilience, and more ability to cope with life's changes.
As to loving yourself comments: I don't know where those comments come from, unless they are talking about the act of loving: taking actual care of someone who is down. Taking care of someone who needs to be looked after.
Do that for yourself, and you will come right.
