Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I hate being alone. My wife suffers from clinical depression and says she has things to work out and she has to be on her own to do it. I miss her so much. I'm afraid this is going to be another very emotional day for me.

I have been where you are my fiend, let the tears and grief flow. It's old sadness mixed with the new and very hard to manage but it does get better
Enzo
Thank you. It makes it even harder when we're 3,000 miles apart.

Sorry to hear. You could also go for a walk or exercise. Look up Meetup website and try to not isolate

I feel guilty if I go do things. This is when depression hits me the hardest. I can't go out and enjoy anything. I just want to be alone. I start a new job tomorrow morning, and that is stressful for me. I'll just have to see what happens.

stay strong and keep your head up, I will be praying for you and your wife. Try and find some things to keep yourself busy, maybe catch up with an old friend.

Thank you. I went for a drive yesterday. I think I'll go for a drive today. I just hate doing things alone. I feel so empty.

I understand. I isolate too. You've said before that your wife loves you so I am sure she would want you to get out and enjoy yourself. Do you have friends or family you could do something with?

My family is in Texas, Colorado, and Washington. I'm in Vermont. I don't know anyone here and I'll be here until July. When I'm not at work I'm alone. When I'm at work I feel alone. Last week my dad told me he has lung cancer so I'm going to look for an assignment in Colorado. I need to find a fishing buddy.

So sorry to hear about your Dad. My Dad had lung cancer, too. I know you just moved so you haven't had time to meet new friends. Maybe you could join a sports group or other group of interest. Church is always a good place to meet new people and they usually have all kinds of support groups that you could get involved in. Just a thought. Staying positive and busy are the best things you can do for yourself.. Also, continue to talk to us here on this site.

I've thought about church. I have a gym membership too. All I want to do is sit at home. I have no motivation. Sunday I went shopping and picked up a bottle of wine. I felt like crap all day yesterday and remembered why I didn't drink!! Haha!! I'm going to go get my cat some food and some milk. I'll probably go for a drive again today. I'm thinking about taking Stinky with me. Stinky is my cat. I'd be really lonely without her.
