It frightens me too...I was shocked when I woke up this morning and saw the results.

We are entitled to our own opinions here and I must strongly disagree with you. There is absolutely no proof of anything you have stated other slanderous lies published by the corrupt liberal media. This country was being destroyed by the liberals and 8 years of Obama and I know that Killery was just going to make it worse. Trump may not be what this country needs, but he is far cry above Killery . The politisions in this country only care about making their fat pockets fatter and for far to long the working class has paid the bill.

This whole election has shaken my faith in society. I feel emotionally devastated, I would have felt bad had Hillary won, but I think I could have dealt with the same old, same old. I think it's the fear of the unknown that bothers people the most right now. Know one really knows what Trump is capable of. Things could be ok, but things could also be really bad for a lot of undeserving human beings. We are all in this together at the end of the day and I hope our earth survives.

When Trump jumped into the race I thought that there must be a republican better than him, so I was one of the "Anybody but Trump" people.

On the democratic side I at first thought that it would be nice to have a woman president. As I looked at Bernie I became one of the "Anybody but Bernie" people. (I am not a socialist, never have been, never will).

Then it came down to Hillary and Donald.

Sigh.

The more I learned about Hillary the less I liked her.

The more I learned about Donald the less I liked him.

So for me this boils down to this: neither party seems to enjoy the middle ground. So the democrats pulled to the left for 8 years, now the republicans have the task of pulling back to the right for 4 or 8 years.

Who knows, if enough of congress stands up to his foolish side, we may just find ourselves going in a good direction.

That's worth its weight in gold. Also he came in under budget and on time. He got the job done. It will be great to have a career businessman steering your ship instead of dynastic career politicians. You won't know yourselves.

Obama was wonderful because he was new blood. Trump is also new blood. And you can bet he is not a christian, doesn't give two hoots about someone's sexuality or race. Sexuality and race don't impact on finances. Trump's all about the money and he hates you being a debtor nation.

Maybe you all will actually balance the books with a businsesman in charge.

For me, this has never been a Republican vs. Democrat issue. It's been a Donald Trump vs. actual politicians issue. Donald Trump has been focused on Donald Trump for 70 years. I'm old enough to remember when he first was becoming popular back in the 1980s. Never has he stood for anything except greed and narcissism. Can anyone name one single thing he has ever done for anyone but himself? One instance of pure altruism? One kind deed out of the goodness of his heart? In regards to his temperament, it's his insecurity and need for constant adulation and approval, and his inability to deal with the slightest criticism that scares me so much. If we look in the history books for leaders who had those traits, I think we would find more negative reports than positive ones, no matter how intelligent or talented those men or women were. But this is a depression website. I'm truly not trying to start a war of words. I just find that I am increasingly agitated and depressed since Wednesday morning. On the one hand, I want to rage against the world, so to speak, and on the other hand, I just want someone to tell me that everything is going to be OK. And I want to be able to tell others that everything will be OK. I've had some good moments over the last couple of days, but at night, everything seems worse, as it often does. I honestly feel much the same way that I did after 9/11. A regular politician with a more even temperament who had made an effort to dedicate his or her life to public service, no matter the party, no matter his or her views, would not scare me as much as this man does. I'm sorry, nobodynemo676, I don't think I've been very helpful here, but at the very least you know you are not alone in your fears. There are checks and balances, of course, and I've heard people around me say that the politicians who make up those checks and balances could impeach and remove him if he truly puts the country in danger. That actually gives me some comfort, and I believe that's similar to what koolman and ThePepperMan have already stated.

When little girls are coming home crying because they're getting their crotch grabbed by boys in school, and little brown children are being beaten and harassed by other children, taunting "building the wall" (a true story from a local school in my home town today) we need to wake up and be honest about the message we have sent to our children and the world. Say what you will about him, being free of the shackles of the politocos, being his own man, but that man is a pig, a disgusting racist misogynistic pig. If you support him, you condon this hate, you have shown your children that hate and fear are going to be the dominate forces in our world. Congratulations, welcome back to 1954.
