I have a close family member and he has now lost his job for about the 7th time. They are having severe money problems and have no savings. his wife seems very depressed. He is a nice and caring man but gets sales job where he works from home and has some difficulty not being distracted.
She has a programming background and we have suggested that she look for work. She is happy when she is working but seems to have difficulty looking for a job and sending out resumes. My understanding is that there is a demand for programmers and she could improve her credentials by taking a free course online but she has difficulty doing that.
They both are very depressed and blame Obama for all their problems though his work issues began well before the election. Any suggestions.

I don't know what to say about the bonehead in the whitehouse as I do not wish to be banned.
But, I can say this in the '08 crash I was without work I also entered into a sever state of depression. The crash did not precipitate my depression as that was on its way since early childhood, but the crash did not help. Worry will wear the soul...
I would intimate to your family members who are having money woes your support and help in their difficult times. Some times support is all any one can do and most times it is all that is needed.
