Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Something else that is important... accept the fact that you have negative thoughts sometimes, because everyone does. It happens and it doesn't make you bad or weird. But do take steps to improve it so it doesn't completely consume you. And also.... keep reaching out! This was a great step. I'm here if you want to message me about anything. Best of luck!
As to negative thoughts: we should all have them. We should have them, look at them, review them, analyse them, and see if they make logical sense and are REALISTIC. And if they are not realistic, we should bin them. If they are realistic we should act upon them.
If you follow your thoughts all the way through to their logical conclusion, and then review them, you can sort them and put them where they belong. It's people who distract themselves, run away from these thoughts, that never get them shelved, and never get rid of them.
