Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I felt so bad yesterday at the night i had a big discussion with my mom and she started to hit me and she screamed bad things like you are an bad daughter , you are a shit that kind of words made me felt so sad i contain my tears and be quiet , until i went to the bathroom and desahoge myself when i finished i wash my face and walked with my head up like i did all the time , i wanted to show her and that her hits and her words make me strong and powerful . But when i settle down and remember everything i feel so bad with myself , i'm a good girl i know but sometimes i feel like i am a horrible person , i destroy everything i touch . Oh lord don't let me down .

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

you are NOT a horrible person, you do NOT destroy everything you touch. you are wonderful.
i don't know what your situation is, whether staying with your mother is a necessity right now, because i know unfortunately saying 'you should try and remove yourself if possible' isn't realistic advice, but even though you are strong and able to pull it together after an episode of abuse, i hope you can remember that in the quiet after that you don't deserve that treatment, that the lies she yells aren't true, that you are a good person.
every parent wants her child to get a good life (reason: they can't imagine their child's situation after their death) she wants you to stand up on your legs
be brave, help her out, joke around her, give her a hug, who knows she might even end up crying.
Everyone gave you some really good words of wisdom.
I just wanted to add that my mother also had some really awful anger issues and some really poor parenting skills.
She ruined her relationship with her daughter.
I hope this doesn't happen to you and your mom, but you're right, it won't be forever, and I wanted you to know you're not alone.
Hugs
I just recently saw a guy talk about "worthlessness".
He held up a hundred dollar bill and asked who wanted it. Of course, the whole crowd chimed in.
Then, he took the bill, stepped on it, smeared it under his shoe....then asked again "who wants it now?" of course, the crowd chimed in.
Then he said, "I'll spit on it!" and did so! "Now, who wants it?" The crowd still chimed in!!
He asked, "Why?" Then said, "Because it still has value....it is still worth $100."
You see, people see your outside. You, yourself, think you are worthless.
But, God knows you are worth more. He sees your inside. He knows what is in your heart. He knows you are valuable. To me, you are valuable, too.
God Bless!
Don't wash face. Don't hold head up. Don't do these things. don't listen when people tell you how mature you are. you're not mature; you're self-repressed and misguided and soaking up toxins you need to learn to let wash down the drain. What is a 'good girl'???? What is that even???? this stuff is spurious garbage. This stuff is for children.
To react like a child: cry. Be hurt. Show and release the hurt, and expose her to what she is doing.
To react like an adult: bite back. Shout back. Show her you won't tolerate this. Ask her what being a good girl even is when it's at home. Bloody ridiculous.
Fact is you're not powerless. This isn't romance fiction and you don't have to go and wash your face and walk tall and have dignity and wait for apologies that will never come while you slowly eat yourself up inside with grief and rejection. That's the passive move. That's the damsel in the tower move. That move does NOT work in the real world AT ALL. Not with anybody.
You have to push back. if she screams? Scream louder. Give it a shot. See what happens. You're going to have to experiment and find out what shuts her down. You're going to have to raise her. What you have to do is avoid being the thing she has catharsis all over.
She's operating a racket and you have to stop her. it's part of learning to be an adult to push back on someone who treats you unfairly and teach them where your boundaries are. That's what the teenaged years are FOR. Don't waste your time being hurt.
