Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Mood swings are part of brin injury apparently. I had two Anniorisms when a child and I've suffered through highs and lows all of my life. Medication helps some, therapy helps some, but it's pretty much a way of life. Writing your feelings out or keeping a journal also might help. God bless. Prayers.

and you may get additional support there.
In my opinion, your recovery depends on the medical profession and the power of your own mind. One of the things that keep my depression at bay is staying very busy. Just no time for it.
I am sure you will get support from others, and I am glad you have joined us.
As for controling your feelings, all of the old coping skills can help (counting to 5 before speaking, removing yourself from a situation that is getting to you (even if it's just turning your head to look at something else). Counting the number of red things in the room, the number of green things, etc...in other words "grounding" yourself.
Just like learning to walk all over again, learning to get ahold of your feelings is a skill that takes practice.
Heartfelt hugs,
It sure isn't easy,
