Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I've been on this board several weeks now and I just wanted to make some observations for everybody:
1. I applaud those on this board that are working hard everyday to get better and feel better. I know some days are hard, but I see your effort. You are getting better.
2. For those of you struggling with depression and finances, may the good Lord lift your depression to help you get back to work or get that new job you've been looking for.
3. For those of you in treatment or taking medicine, if it is not working, keep going back to the doctor until you find the right medicine or diagnosis. I harp on this a lot, but I was misdiagnosed bi-polar until I met my endocrinologist. Don't automatically assume depression. Have your thyroid and hormones checked. It is so important, especially to those that treatment doesn't seem to work.
4. For those that feel suicidal, reach out to someone immediately. A friend, family or doctor. Nobody should feel so bad. This will pass and there is help and effective treatment available. Just hang on and reach out.
5. To those that have lost somebody close, may the good Lord give you the best memories of your loved one. May he heal your pain and replace it with warmth and love. You will see them again.
6. To those that are lonely, you are never alone. We are with you when you need us and there is always companionship available to those that seek it. Find new places to meet people outside of your comfort zone. Even a pet can be a great companion.
7. To those that have a difficult relationship. May the good Lord give you the foresight to make a decision on your future. Most of the time you already know the right answer, you just need a little nudge to decide to stay or move on. I wish you luck.
8. To those that are sick or bedridden, may this board be a source of comfort when you are feeling down and may the good Lord be with you in your time of need.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

Hope the dog days of summer aren't getting you down!

Funny, I don't comment here often but I do "creep" every now and again. Your #7 observation struck me as I was just sitting here lamenting about my situation with my STBX when I logged on here. Strange coincidence or the kick to the arse that I need, not sure which......lol
Thanks for such a kind thread:)
Your words have been very helpful for me tonight :)
