Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Hello everyone, I just rejoined today. I used to be on this site a lot, and then I quit my horrible job and tried a few new things. I now have a terrific job with great coworkers and an enviable work environment.
I'm been working on my depression (and anxiety) for as long as I can remember. Every time I think I have it managed, it gets away from me again. For instance, right now, no matter how much I want to, I can't get my head to focus on reading this report that I'm writing. I have plenty to do, but my head just doesn't care.
I live in a fog most days, and it feels like I'm steadily getting worse. I'm terrified that I will f**k up this fantastic job because I can't concentrate and get things done in a timely manner.
I used to have a support group, but everyone drifted away. I wouldn't say I have any best friends. I have a couple friends that would show up if I was in the hospital, but I wouldn't count on them to help me move, if that makes sense.
Like everyone, I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. I had pretty good luck on this site five years ago and I thought I'd try it again.
Thanks for reading,

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

welcome back
To answer your questions, no meds right now, but now that I have this new job, I can work on the cycle again...therapy, meds, etc. My pattern right now is: 1. get a therapist 2. end up on meds 3. something happens that I have to stop (laid off, moved out of state, lost insurance, money troubles, etc.) 4. I'm perfectly fine for about a year...5. Then I crash again, hard, and start the cycle over.
You'd think I'd learn. Hopefully this will be the last cycle.
Anyway, thanks again for your welcomes.
