I had an ECT this morning to help with my depression. For those of you who don't know what an ECT is.. to put it in layman's "shock treatment". If you've never been so depressed to the point where you wanna die and no meds or counseling helps....ECT's will!!! Anyway I had one and I feel soooooo much better....I am laughing, smiling and joking again. I am no longer wanting to die. It's truly a blessing to have something medical help so well. For those out there that think shock treatments are like "One Flew Over the Coockoo's Nest" think again... Hollywood loves to make stuff up and let me tell you that is COMPLETELY made up. I am grateful for the nurses, dr and staff and the hospital. They make the whole procedure not scary (not that it is) and make me feel like I'm cared for and about.

I am really glad the ECT was such a great experience for you. I have been thinking about it for a few months now. My therapist isn't on board with it though. The last time I got it about 5 years ago it did help me but I don't think the positive effects lasted very long and I had some memory loss. I am still happy to hear that you had such a great experience. It is good to hear positive things about it.
