Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
It sounds like you are trying to do several very high stress things right now: quitting smoking, exercise, eat better, as well as deal with some personal issues. That is a lot to take on all at once.
Perhaps you can prioritize things, and work on them all in stages.
I don't know much about quitting smoking; some seem to do OK with the cold turkey, others taper off, and some need those patch things.
Perhaps work on getting to the gym 2 days a week for 30 minutes, then work on the first stage of quitting smoking. When you have a handle on one of those, then perhaps start to eliminate some of the junk food from your diet.
Then as you make progress on one thing add another small task to master.
Getting to a better version of you in a year is much better than trying to do it in a month and giving up.
Gentle hugs, and again welcome!
can you talk to your doctor about what they suggest to stop smoking? but going to the gym or just walking, is a good start. no matter how u feel, fresh air, helps. We all have been in different stages of depression..so we understand your struggles. Hugs
