The following is the text of an email I am sending to my faculty advisors for a stipend that I think I am entitled to. As it states I have expenses this summer that I must cover including health care, transportation, and getting my son off to college.
The problem is that after I slipped into my depressive state, I cut off all communication with EVERYONE...phone, text, email, everything!...I disappeared and avoided all form of communication with anyone outside of my home...and even those in my home if possible...so I am wondering how they are going to take this email...are they going to ignore it...or are they going to try to deny me the stipend...and if they do then what do I do?
The most pressing thing right now is getting my son off to college!...he needs a shot...he needs to get his license...he need to go to orientation...he needs his first months rent...he needs, needs, needs, and I don't have any money or any place to get money for all his needs...I am so financially stressed that I don't know what to do...
sorry, I started to go off on a tangent again!...anyway...here is the text of the email...let me know what y'all think.
I am writing to inquire what I must to do to receive my XYZ stipend.
The 2011-12 academic year was very difficult for me physically,
emotionally, academically and financially. I am just now beginning to recover
from the breakdown that I had in April/May.
For the last 4 years, I have lived off $260 a month in child-support.
This year (2012) has been especially difficult and due to bad decisions on MY part
and a few unforeseen circumstances, my financial resources were completely
exhausted on May 2nd of this year when I received the last child support check.
It is for this reason, that I need to do whatever necessary to
receive the stipend for my service on the 2011-12 XYZ Board. As Mr. XXXXX knows, I did not receive the
stipend for my service on the 2010-11 XYZ Board. I was able to overlook that at
the time because I was not struggling financially as I am now. However, now I
have medical expenses and miscellaneous educational expenses that I must cover
for myself and my son who will be attending XXXX in the Fall.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and response to this
matter.
