Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I think the trick is to find something you can hold onto that helps you through the day. It could be a hobby, a volunteer job, something to focus on that can be positive.

I try and only go in my room when it is bedtime. When I do go in during the day, it is only for a minute, and I do feel some peace.
Reading before bed is better than watching TV or looking at a computer screen or phone.
I am all too familiar with insomnia, and thoughts that are racing and won't just shut up. I have heard that if they keep racing to leave the room and go to another room to try and calm down. I find myself fighting the thoughts and will drift off to sleep for a short time, before the thoughts are back again. My doctor has prescribed sleeping aids for me. I switch them up, so I do not become dependent or immune to a certain one.
Please know you are BY FAR not the only one! I am sure MANY of us are awake at 3 am, it just seems like we are alone. Sending good thoughts your way, and I hope knowing you are not alone helps. Hugs.
