Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Identify the pain. And then accept it.
I know that divorce makes you feel like a huge oak that was ripped out of the soil - all its roots broken. no nourishment, just an anxious desperate gasping for air.
But this time passes. You know it passes.
Don't be sucked in by your feelings. They are wanting you to think bad things just because they feel like turd. Don't get sucked in.
Today you are in the bear pit. Today you can see no future, and today it's all crashing down around you.
Tomorrow you won't be in the bear pit. Tomorrow you will be in the open field with birds singing and flowers blooming... and you won't even remember the bear pit.
Remember that your mind concertinas. It's like one of those old fashioned punch card computers: when you are having a bad time, it sifts through the punch cards and brings you a million like experiences to make you feel 1,000,000 times worse.
Don't pay attention to it! It's just a function of the brain. Your cerebral cortex is your most recent bit of brain and it still has some serious bugs in the software. One of these is suggesting death when it can't think of any other answer. The other is this dreadful concertina effect of dragging all like experiences together.
It doesn't do it when you're happy. You're too busy being happy. So you just get this totally warped effect.
Don't get sucked in. Identify the tiny little things that are making you feel dreadful, and fix them one by one. Tick them off a list. Don't think of the future: think of the now. Now is a terrible time to put together a picture of the future: your negative state will guarantee a negative picture.
One thing I can promise you is that how you are feeling now is not how you will feel in 3 days time, and in 3 days time you will look back and say 'i was wrong then, but I am right now.' So never do anything in this state, because it's guaranteed to be the wrong move.
xx. take care. PM me if you ever want to. i am full of this stuff. :D
I'm happy now. There is happy after sad. There is contentment after misery. You DON'T need a man to be happy. I am 1000 times happier now than I have ever been.
You'll see. And if you do find another man, and he is finally the right one for you, that will be bonus points. but you are going to be okay. :)
xx
