i give up

have been up all night just crying. im done with life. i have been offered my dream job. i have built my whole career around this opportunity.and i have to say no.
it is in the middle of nowhere literally at a camp and nearest town is hours away so i cant take my wife with me. i am her caregiver now more than ever and i cant take her wth me so i have to say no.
also my wife has cancer of some sort. the blood work has come in with those results.now waiting on the new mri results to see if it is just a cancer cyst or the whole spinal cord.
so i have lost my dream job. and possibly the love of my life.and if not lost the love of my life i am gong to have to watch her go through this and see and feel her pain.
i give up.

That sounds tough.

You're in a real pickle. Saying no to your dream job to be with your wife is a bold thing to do.
You may be losing her ( hopefully not) but she must know now you love her more than anything.

Only advice I can give is be kind to yourself. You're a big man for this.

I am sorry you have to go through all this. Timing write now is not right. Maybe you are not meant to be there at this time for reasons you don't know about. You are a real stand up guy!!! You can be proud!!

Giving up? Yeah, I'm not seeing that in you. I'm seeing a guy with his priorities locked step with the best. No job is worth a wife. I suspect this was not a unique job, limited to just a few, like NFL Head Coach, or something, so you may have a better offer down the road. A great friend once told me, nothing is ever as good or as bad, as it SEEMS to be, right at that moment. Time, that's what you need as your filter. Filter all this thru the prism of time, and guess what... the time you have left, with your wife, your job, your life, etc. is all going to be what YOU make of it. Take care, and I'll be praying for you.
