Abilify

My doctor has just added Abilify to my medication regiment.

I'm wondering if anyone else has/is taken this med and what your experience has been with it.

My doctor's nurse practitioner prescribed Abilify for me. I had asked her about it without doing ANY research. I was going by the commercials I saw on TV.

I was taking it with fluoxetine. It didn't really do anything for me either way. I was too messed up for either drug to be effective. I just stopped taking it, primarily because the co-pay was $50.

When I finally went to a mental health center, the intake counselor said that Abilify is an antipsychotic and I shouldn't have been on it.

I've heard that Abilify works really well for some people. I hope it makes you feel better.

Thank you for your response, clover. I have been on it for two weeks now, and was told it would work quickly; however, to be honest can't tell if it is making a difference or not.

I'm not sleeping well, which I don't know is an effect of the med.

The lack of sleep may be adding to this current state of depression.
