Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Maybe it will help you. Please take care of yourself. It is a rough period of adjustment. Prayers going up for your little one.

Here is the DS Pet Bereavement group which you may find helpful: http://www.dailystrength.org/c/Pet-Bereavement/support-group
When I lost my dear rabbit Giblets I got a memorial tattoo for her. if your a tattoo person, pet memorial tattoos are pretty great.
It's nice to have a ritual or commemorative thing to do for your beloved pet, whether have a funeral (and I have been to rat, rabbit and hedgehog funerals) or put up photos. and light candles beneath them.
My vet gave me a booklet about something called the rainbow bridge. It said that when it is our turn, as a human, to pass we walk over a rainbow bridge that connects this world to the next one. Waiting for us, on the other side, are the pets that we loved during our life time. They will guide us as we make the transition.
I agree, please consider the pet bereavement group.
Don't commit your future with promises made in the sorrow of a fresh loss. Accept that your thoughts about getting another pet are likely to change (several times!) as time passes.
Gentle hugs
I am so sorry for your loss. I have a little(big) dog named Amber whom is a hassle but if we lost her too soon it would affect us all tremendously. She IS family too us. Many don't realize how deep a connection with pets or animals can get. And don't that you didn't do enough, you did you best. Things happen, it was her time and sometimes we can only do so much. Our best, that's all we can do. You sound like a wonderful owner for any pet to have let alone her. Remember the good times you had with her. Even though she suffered, remember she wagged her tail in joy many times too? Think about those times. With time you can get another pet maybe even a dog. It won't replace her but it could help you in similar ways that she did and help you enjoy life.:)
Sincerely,
Torrance
