Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

When I was young, I didn't think I could be happy unless I was romantically involved. It's a good thing I got over that. We were made to have a mate, but, there are plenty of people who don't find the right person for years, if ever, and the wrong person is so much worse than being alone - every time.
Sending you good thoughts :)

"We can not enjoy life if we spend our time and energy worrying about what happened yesterday and what will happen tomorrow. If we're afraid all the time, we miss out on the wonderful fact that we're alive and can be happy right now." Thich Nhat Hanh
If you look around, though, you'll see people who manage to be joyful in the worst circumstances. I think the difference with them is that they notice and celebrate what is positive and beautiful about every moment and every day.
When I'm feeling really down, it helps me just to write down a few things that bring me pleasure in that moment. Like, my morning cup of coffee, or watching my cat play on my bed, or seeing the morning sun break through the trees. Or maybe I'm thankful for bigger things, like the fact that I have a roof over my head and I'm educated unlike so many in the world.
My therapist always tells me that "this is a 'state', that doesn't mean it's static. At some point the feelings WILL shift." and I have always found her words to be true. My feelings don't shift as quickly as I would like them to, but they eventually do. ((hugs))
