Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
If you ever feel like talking, please message me, I'll always answer.
If you want something to change, you have to change something.
You know I've spent the last decade trying to get rid of people as all they ever seem to do is annoy, upset and depress me. Instead I decided to be as alone as I could and just learn to live my way, with just my partner and now 16 year old.
Oh, and the ruler of our little family too, the cat, she runs everything here her way. I talk to her a lot, usually making jokes etc for the other two.
I do know, of course, how lonely it can feel when you don't make the choices I have and some days I think about what would happen if my partner and child disappeared for some reason.
But being lonely, to me, has always been a choice. At times in my life when I felt alone I somehow put myself out there far enough to make lots of friends. Mostly it's about taking the initiative and speaking first to others, smiling and making friends through regular contact. Doesn't matter who, age is irelevant if you can communicate so just open up if you can and start talking to others.
May sound impossible but do you understand that most people feel as you do? They feel they can't make friends and don't initiate anything so if you do the chances are they'll respond.
