ouch! that is a tough one, but i gotta say dont lie to your doctor, misinformation can lead to the wrong treatment and be dangerous, no treatment is also dangerous.

Don't lie to your Dr., tell him/her the truth about your financial situation. Perhaps they can give you free samples are offer advise. I'm sure there are many other people in the same boat.

My doctor found a prescription for me at Walmart that costs $10 for 3 months worth of my meds -- $40 a year! I couldn't believe it. They had originally cost @ $1200/year. Ask your doctor if there is a cheaper prescription or a cheaper place to get your prescription.

Discuss your financial concerns w/ your doctor. Mine had some great ideas that have helped me a lot. Best of luck!

Well, .. lying to your doctor is wasting your time, his time, and the expense to him. Soooo, that is the last thing you want to do.

An untreated or undertreated peptic ulcer can get VERY serious. Fortunately, medications for that are TYPICALLY very, very cheap. Talk to your doc about the expense of your medication and see what your options are. As mentioned, Walmart has a discount prescription program you may find very helpful. Same goes for your depression meds .. talk to Doc about the expense of those too.

Only two choices? I think you have more than only two choices .. try the suggestions in this thread .. and see.

Actually, yes...WalMart does now offer mail order meds. I agree with the others that you need to be honest with your doc about how you are really feeling, and about your financial situation. Playing with your health is not a good idea, and may have long term negative effects for years to come. Can your parents help you at all with the cost of meds/doc visits? If you are over 18..maybe coming off of your parents insurance, and applying for state health insurance (like Medicaid) would be a better option for you. I do know in some states at dr's offices they offer medicine according to your income, but not if your on insurance, but if you have no insurance some companys thru your dr's office will give the medication for free. Please check with your dr and see if there is such a plan at this office. It worked for me in Iowa, and im about to apply in Illinois since i have moved. Good luck. Hugs Lexi

manufacturers actually give doctors 'samples' with unlimited supplies... so that doctors can give them to the poor, as well as people beginning medication. my mother has used samples for months during hard times.
