I went to doctors yesterday for stomach and digestive problems, I hated every minute of the app. I felt like a lab experiment. My stomach feels like guts all mixed around. I just want to feel better and know whats wrong with me. I have to go back in two weeks for more tests and blood work. Good thing is the doctor put me on some antidepressants because I haven't been doing well on my own with out them...Bad thing is it's only been one day and I already hate them.

Is that normal to already feel side effects from them? The pharmacist told me it would take 3 weeks.

yeah the anti-depressants taketime, hopefully u'll see in an improvelmment in your attitude towards life in a couple of weeks. good luck with that.

I can't tell if it's my stomach problems or the pills, but last night my heart was racing a mile a minute, I couldn't sleep, and I feel really hazy today.

Im on that. It could make u feel like that but give it time. Ur body may just need to adjust to them.

I'm only on 10mg, but I have never been on antidepressants before. I have for years just been ignoring doctors =(

Maybe it's just because my body is not used to it?

Could be but if it does keep up, let ur dr know.

I know.

I think maybe I'm just scared. I have never been a to a doctors office as a patient EVER... Not even as a child. And now I may have major medical problems, I'm just terrified, and I hate doctors.

When I was on Celexa the side effects started right away. I felt jittery and had a terrible time sleeping. The POSITIVE effects tend to take time, but the negative effects start right away. It also tends to have some nasty sexual side effects like most other SSRI's.

its part of the placebo effect.

medication is designed to work gradually. you normally wont have an accurate symptom until 2 weeks on the medication.

because of anxiety, youll become anxious and question if the medication is working. within hours of taking it. this anxiousness can sometimes progress into stress which can cause stress related issue... like suicidal thoughts. a lot of people fear the medication will change them into someone different. when really, most of their 'symptoms' come from their own anxiety, which the medication would help with...
