One time when my family came home from vacation (I was about 11 or 12) Our refrigerator was covered with baby spiders...I remember opening and closing it, and then looking at my hand / arm..... omg COVERED in baby spiders.

I have heard that no person is ever more than 8 feet away from a spider.

i work in a pet store with 4 different kinds of tarantulas...i'm supposed to be able to pick them up and hold them but i honestly want to stomp on the nasty little bastards. i work with a guy who was in the gulf war and he was telling me about camel spiders. he said that his fellow soldiers could march into battle without showing fear but would scream like little girls if a camel spider was found in their camp.

If you crushed it, think of the mess it would make....

I thought I could handle it, so I clicked on the link. Now that I've seen it, I feel like there's something crawling on me. Bleh... I have the heebie jeebies now.

they are creepy, with those 8 legs, all prickly and quiet.

One time, in the town of Payson, AZ, I saw a BIG ASSED spider up high on a wall where we lived, as I was putting my kids to bed.

I saw it and figured, well, it will do its thing and move off.

It was huge and hairy. When I went up to bed, it occurred to me to make sure it was not around when I checked on them, but, NO SUCH LUCK. It was ON THE PILLOWS next to my sleeping 5 year old son. This means it had traveled down the ceiling, down the wall, seemingly was intending to bite my child. ...or at least invade his sleeping space.

I picked up another pillow, raised it over my head, and brought it down on the spider with all of the force I could muster.

It died. I am not an advocate of killing anything that is alive, but when it blatantly gets near my children, it has to die.

Later that summer, we dealt with a wayward tarantula, which apparently had intentions of coming into the house...it crawled up the porch stairs, and up the front screen door.

Even later that summer, my daughter was stung by a scorpion which had been hiding in her shoe as she was getting ready for school.

The desert is chock full of stinging / biting vermin.

I understand the not killing thing, but I usually freak out so much that I end up continually thrashing them with a book or something until they are literally in pieces....

I would rather deal with snakes than spiders. Snakes are no big deal to me. But spiders??? I'll use a whole can of bug spray, a blow torch, and spiked workboots on one of those suckers.

me tooo Rainer.. guess thats cause we are twins.. I am still slapping the shit out of myself thinking things are crawling on me. I wish I had never looked. I cant get that sight quite out of my head..

I would show my son that I work for but he would freak. His new wife has a pet tarantula but its at her moms house. He is even freakier about it then me if there is such a thing.. ewwwwwwwwwwwwww.. *slaps leg so hard it leaves an imprint*

Man, that thing would clog the toilet!
