My psychiatrist put me on 100mg Seroquel 3 weeks ago. At first, it helped a lot. The longer I take it, the worse I feel. I woke up this morning & my first thought was "I have no choice but to kill myself". My suicidal thoughts have pretty much dominated my thoughts for almost a week. I feel worse than I ever have before in my life. I haven't taken any today, & I think I am starting to feel better. I had some left over Effexor, so I took one of those. My psychiatrist also abruptly took me off Xanax, & gave me only 4 days to wean from it. I am so confused, I don't know what is making me feel so hopeless.

I am from the UK and would ring the national mental health line for advice. Do you have the equivalent in the US?
If not try and sit tight until Monday when you can call your doctor.
I will be here for the next two hours if you someone to sit with you.
And I'm sorry the nurse is snippy, you would think the nurse would be a little more sympathetic.
I had a relapse last year and it took a bit of trial and error to get the new meds right.
ECT works for some people and may be of benefit to you but that depends on your medical history and circumstances.
