Past, present, or future,

My last cat went AWOL! I know how much pets help with my mental health but feel I barely look after myself ATM. So don't feel it's fair to replace him just yet.

I had a cat for 14 years , she eventually became an outside cat because my husbands allergies got really bad. She was a great companion when she was a house cat , unfortunately the relationship changed so much. I guess because with her being outside all the time and wandering around we became less attached to each other . When we moved six months ago the cat was so attached to the old place that she kept leaving and finding her way to the previous address, I picked her up a few times and she would just leave gain escaping to the old address. Finally I realized that she was more attached to the area then us and this is so very hurtful for me to think about . People tried to tell me that she still smelled us over there and that was what made her continue to go back there . But I just think she must not have loved me anymore. obviously and well that's a little hard to take. Sigh......

This is her picture in my avatar. Iam in contact with a neighbor from the old address and they have been feeding her. I feel like I was a bad pet owner. Everyone talks about how loyal a pet is to you. Did me making her an outside cat cause her to not be loyal to me anymore? She was great comfort to me when I was coming off my medications I would go outside and sit just to be near her and she came to my side everytime. Now we are permanently separated. My daughter suggested another getting another cat and to heck with husbands allergies . I don't know

My dogs are everything to me. They're the two little things that keep me going.

I saw them on Sunday for the first time since I was admitted to hospital in March so it was pretty exciting. I really miss them though.

When I go home they'll be the best thing about it! :-)

I can't have a pet now, but when I did they were wonderful.

I have 11 pets! It's very overwhelming at times, but I always have a reason to get out of bed in the A.M. I have 2 bearded dragons, 3 rats, 2 cats, and 4 dogs (one is my bf's dog but we live together). There is almost nothing better in my opinion than laying on my bed at night and being snuggled to sleep. They make me smile, laugh, and feel less isolated and lonely. I love them so much.

Animals are so wonderful. I currently have 3 dogs and 4 cats. I don't know what I would do without my furry babies.

My current AND past pets enrich/enriched my life.

2 dogs and 3 fish...and for the life we live it isn't fair to the dogs anymore. one is 11 the other 9 and they will not be replaced anytime soon.

I've had pets my whole life. dogs, cats, fish, birds, hamsters, guinea pigs. they are a lot of work and harder to deal with than kids at times.

my 11 year old is losing some abilities to hold his bathroom needs. makes for extra work. we know the end is near.

I can't say that they have helped me in my times of depression. they are here more for the kids nowadays

I got two cats. After their gone, I aint getting anymore, they are just too much work. I love them, but sometimes they can be a handful.

Yes, my fur baby is my profile pic, lol. He makes me so happy and I don't know what I would do without him. In my darkest moments he's gotten me through with a meow and a purr.

I have always had pets and cannot imagine life without them. When I am depressed they make me feel so loved,so important. They wait for me every day when I come home from work and are so excited to see me. As they have passed on we have not replaced them, so we have the least amount we've ever had- we only have 2 dogs and 1 cat. we used to have 3 dogs, 3 horses and 1 car. I miss all the animals, but my health is getting worse so it has worked out best this way.But I will always have animals. They truly enrich my life.
